Benefits of being a member of the
Institute of Industrial and Systems
Engineering (IISE)

  1. Membership shows that you have reached a certain level of expertise in your
profession and adds to your credibility. It also shows that you are serious about your
    career and professional development.
  2. Networking. Attending events or functions in a professional organization related to
your field will help you get to know colleagues better, interact with competitors and
    build relationships with potential mentors.
  3. Professional and trade organizations offer development and connections with others
in your field and enhance your business profile. Having an industry association on
your CV says you are very committed to your profession and actively participating in
its advancement. Clients, customers, and employers like that.
  4. Membership can help to provide comprehensive help and support in a practical
manner that can assist career development.
  5. Members are allowed to vote at meetings and generally influence policy.
  6. Members are allowed to use the post nominal letters to signify their status. For
example a full member will be styled something like John Murphy B Eng, RIE, to
signify that he is a registered member of the Institute, while a fellow will probably be
styled Mary Murphy B Eng, FIE to signify that she is a fellow member.
  7. Membership of IISE comes with the added benefit of offering a pathway to
membership of the American body with all of the associated benefits.

Membership

Full membership of the Institute is available to applicants who have a degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, Maths, or a cognate discipline, subject to approval by the Registrar of Members.

Company membership, which brings a range of benefits, is also available to selected applicants. The membership of the Institute is drawn from all parts of the country. To date we have dispensed with the traditional branch structure and instead stay in touch by means of the variety of social media available. This policy is being kept under constant review and the Institute is guided by the wishes of its members in this regard.

Fees are now payable annually.
